  1. Listen to them with interest

Along with speaking, child also looks forward to an audience who can give them an ear and cater to their curiosities. Even if a child does not have a lid topic, listen to them and ask questions. Show them that you care and care enough to lend them your ear.

  1. Talk to them on interesting topics

There are trivial topics that can interest a child. Say, they might love to talk about ‘Why don’t cars fly?’ Join them in the discussion and tell them all you can about cars. Tell them the dangers if cars would start flying. This way, child would always love to have a discussion and bond well with you.

  1. Involve them in your activities

Mommies should call upon the kiddies in the kitchen. Let them know how do knead the dough. Give them a piece of dough to make a small chapatti. Let them understand the basics of kitchen like glasses, spoons, serving tray and much more.

  1. Get involved in their activities

If you see your child busy playing with clay, join them! Act like a kid. Ask for your turns and shares in every game. Share chocolates with them. In the meantime, ask them to divide chocolates in 4 equal parts. The child will not know but will learn more that any school can teach.

  1. Never fail to appreciate their imaginative power

If you ever hear a child say, why don’t I have horns like a deer? Appreciate the imagination power and tell them the difference between a human and an animal. This way, a pat on a back will empower a child and your interest in his imagination will let them believe that you care enough.

  1. Travel to places

You need to travel with the child. Go on a weekend day out or a long vacation. Take them along a stride and take long walks with the. The same four walls in the house will make the child depressed and they might not develop a habit of gelling with the world out there.

  1. Read books with them

Reading is an amazing activity. Don’t make it a plain reading. Wherever a child stops, assist them in reading aloud certain words. This shall develop a feeling in a child that you are the one always steering them through. Make it a point not to scold the child on petty mistakes.

  1. Read aloud stories to them

Reading aloud stories to the child is a real big bonding technique. Even if you are a working parent and your child attends the schools and coaching all day, remember to read aloud a few short stories to them at night. Despite you being away from them for a long day, they will wait for you spending quality time with them.

  1. Act/ Role Play with them

Make weekends special. Act like a story character while your kid plays another character. If you are batman for a day, come running and say….. “Woohooo…., I am flying!” While playing your character do the daily chores like serve food, wash clothes and dishes and much more.

THEY NEED YOU THE MOST…IT’S JUST THAT THEY DON’T SAY IT TOO OFTEN.

Keep bonding with your kids well!
